Thick Cookie Co. began long before we ever opened our doors. It started when Morgan Page and Matthew Minnix met in college in Russellville, Arkansas, and started dating after a lot of awkwardness and crushing. Morgan baked cookies for Matthew’s teammates because it made people smile on their away games. Before long, friends started saying, “You should really start selling these.” So we did.

In 2023 we started small: local markets, order forms, and late-night baking in our apartment. When we launched nationwide shipping and local pickup, the line of 20+ cars outside our complex told us we had something special, something worth pouring our lives into.

Matthew grew up vacationing in Destin, and when we visited Fort Walton Beach, it instantly felt like home. So we took the leap together. Matthew stepped away from the pre-med path, Morgan kept refining every recipe, and we built the bakery we wished existed: warm, welcoming, and full of cookies that feel nostalgic, comforting, and a little over-the-top in the best way. Something we feel has been lost in this corporate-chain driven era.

For a while, we paused shipping to open our storefront and get our feet on the ground. But we always knew we wanted to share these cookies far beyond our city. So after months of testing, designing our packaging, and perfecting how our cookies travel, nationwide shipping is back and better than ever.

Today, we’re engaged, building this dream side-by-side, and still baking the same way we started, by hand, with real ingredients, and way more chocolate than any recipe calls for.
